In case you missed it, we had bought a puppy earlier this year, who was supposed to come home at the beginning of the summer. Unfortunately a week before we were going to pick him up, he got sick and sadly didn't make it. We were all heart broken, especially myself and the girls, but at last, now we have a new puppy that is finally coming home to us in just TWO weeks!!

Many have asked me why we chose a Doberman. There are a few reasons, including how smart and loyal they are, but at the end of the day, it was Joe's pick. I have been trying to convince him to get a dog since we were married (that's almost 10 years of effort!) and FINALLY  the kids and I broke him LOL - truthfully I think it was Jack, he has a love for dogs like no other kid I've seen before. I told Joe he could pick any breed and after A LOT of research he landed on the Dobbie, which I was thrilled about. Although these dogs often get a bad rep, they make great family dogs, they're quite goofy, sweet, and like I mentioned, very loyal to their family.

But now back to our pup...

When we went to meet the litter a few weeks ago, there were three males, and I immediately gravitated toward one pup, but he wanted nothing to do with me LOL! While I tried really hard to win him over, another pup was playing happily with the kids. We decided to see who would come to us, and sure enough, the playful pup ran right to me while the other went off exploring - it was meant to be.

We’ve already picked a name (I’ll reveal that later) and stuck with the one we had in mind for the first pup, since we really do love it, and the girls didn't want to change it. Now, we’re prepping the house for his arrival—crate, food, toys, leash, bowls... the essentials! We’ve also been watching training videos to get the whole family on the same page, but I won’t lie, I’m starting to freak out a bit about all the work ahead. I've had dogs my whole life, but it was always my parents who were primarily responsible for them LOL

I keep reminding myself that the hard parts are temporary, and soon we’ll have the best new crew member. Plus, I can’t wait to have a walking buddy—no more solo evening walks for me!

That’s it, that’s all for now. I can’t wait to finally introduce you to your new insta pup.
