When designing the TKL Shop, I wanted to create a space that feels like an extension of my home—a place where every detail matters. Here are some of the design elements that make our shop unique and inviting:
I love a good photo or Instagram moment, and our decals provide just that. The floor decal reads, "Your home is your happy place." While it's not our official slogan, it encapsulates my belief that your home should give you all the feels, trends aside. The TKL Shop is my second home, my happy place, my little escape or "She cave." Our wall decal features our official slogan, "Feels like home," which perfectly sums up the cozy, welcoming atmosphere we strive to create.
In my opinion, every space needs a touch of "old" to add character. Our unlacquered faucet will patina over time, giving it the feeling that it has been there forever. This evolving look adds a layer of charm and history to the shop.
I always recommend mixing and matching hardware, and I'm a big fan of adding a latch wherever possible. It adds character and visual interest. This approach makes each space more engaging and unique.
The little peg hooks on our pegboard are classic and charming. They’re perfect for utilizing the often-unused space below a shelf. While they are fantastic for store displays, they can also be a great feature in kitchens, mudrooms, laundry rooms, and especially kids' bedrooms or playrooms for organizing all their little things.
The scallops were the first detail we decided on for the shop. Although they're currently trendy, I find them to be quite traditional. They add a playful touch while maintaining a classic look, perfectly balancing whimsy and sophistication.
Each of these elements contributes to making the TKL Shop not just a place to shop, but a place that truly feels like home.
