I haven’t stayed at too many Airbnb cottages in Ontario—lucky for us, we’ve got friends and family who generously invite us to theirs during the summer (seriously, we’re spoiled!). But the few that I have tried out have been absolutely wonderful, and I get asked about them all the time. So, I thought I’d share some of my favourites here!
Where I’m Staying This Summer
This summer, my family stayed this beautiful spot to celebrate my dads birthday. It was only 1 hour from Toronto, which was lovely, and fit our family of 11 more than comfortably. I do wish it was a bit cleaner, however the host did send the cleaners back the same day and refunded us the cleaning fee. Also, the waterfront was nice, but it was rocky and has seaweed in all but one area, which wasn’t ideal. On the contrary, there were steps into the water and it was quite shallow, which was nice for small children.
A Little Slice of Paradise
This cottage wasn’t very big (perfect for one or maybe two families), but it was so cute and clean, and the beachfront was spectacular—I honestly felt like I was in the Caribbean. If you’re looking for a charming, laid-back spot to relax by the water, this is it.
Winter Wonderland (But I Bet Summer is Amazing Too)
A few years ago, we stayed at this secluded getaway in the winter, and it was great! It was clean, spacious, and the perfect spot to unwind. I can only imagine how nice it would be in the summer—definitely on my list to revisit when it’s warmer.
